The Dark Place

I've been walking through this darkness for a while now but I don't feel like I'm getting anywhere. Every step I take, I'm just greeted with more darkness. I can't even see myself without the glow of the laptop. It's cold here, not freezing, but just that slight chill.

...I've be hearing whispers, they're not clear enough to hear, but I've heard them say Skyles more than once. It's not as if they're trying to unnerve me though, I think that they're trying to get my attention, but as much as I listen to them, I can never understand what they're saying.

I don't know where I am and quite frankly, I don't care. I can't hurt anyone else with this power. People are safe, having me here.

This place shall serve as my prison.

The Leech and the Misery

There were so many dead... so many. Their bodies just laid there, their eyes just seeming empty now. I looked around, but all I could focus on were the the bodies and the blood. I stared Alan, hung from his roots, his arms and legs dangling. I stood there, unable to move, not even able to bring a tear.

"Amazing isn't it..." I heard from behind me, I was still unable to move, although not out of shock, I just couldn't move at that point, from that, I knew the voice came from Jack. He took a seat on a stool in front of me, grinning at me, staring into my eyes, blood was trickling from his mouth.

"There were more than 20 people in here and they couldn't even stop me..." he laughed, looking around at the bodies. He turned back to me, leaning forwards. "But they couldn't do a thing, just like you can't Skyles." he grinned at me, "Nice little trick isn't it, you see I was born being able to do that, whenever someone would upset me, I'd just make them stay frozen for a while." he laughed at that, grinning wider.

"But I got tired of it, I wanted more, but that little feat was impossible, until I met the red haired man with the burnt hand." he told me, he was starting to look even more insane and that seems like a damn hard feat to pull when you have blood trickling from your mouth already. "He granted me a new ability, the ability of the leech, the only drawback being a thirst." he pointed to the blood around his mouth, licking his lips with that.

He stood up and walked until we were face to face. "But that's enough about me, let's talk about your abilities..." he whispered with malice. I still couldn't move, but what did it matter... all I was filled with acceptance, I... was ready for this to happen... "Your ability to change is quite amusing to me but that's not what I'm after, no... I want the other ability." at this point he was staring with a sick look of delight in his eyes. "I want your power of misery..." he hissed.

I had no idea what he meant until he said "You already know of it... You know that people suffer from being around you. Just like how Emma's portal was effected, poor little Tom had his mind warped, C's death..." he leaned in closer and whispered "Or how you led me to these people..." He was right... it was me, all me, I cause misery... I would've continued these thoughts but I was interrupted by Jack grabbing my throat. His hand was impossibly sharp, it began to cut into me, I could feel myself bleed.

But Jack suddenly yelled in pain as a knife dug into his shoulder, Jack pushed me away from him, causing me to fall back. But as I fell, I kept falling, I found I could move again, but wherever I looked, there was just darkness. I hit the ground with a thud, well I think it's the ground, I can't see anything just darkness... The only light coming from this laptop now.

That's what happened... It's what I know now...

I'll just stay in the darkness for a while, I need to think.

I hate this

I'm getting comfortable here... The people are kind, they're like me, they understand how these abilities make me feel. The bar itself is nicely hidden, they don't allow fear servants in here, it's just for us. They've even given me a place to stay... It's safe here and it makes me feel happy.

I hate it.

This is just like before, I would feel content and then the shit starts, people would die, they'd leave me and they'd become monsters. The happiness would be ripped away from me every time, even before Emma and Tom, it would happen...

It's going to happen again, I just know it, something is going to go wrong. I can't do that to these people. As much as I love it here...

I'm going to have to leave.

The Guy rooted to the wall

So I talked to that rooted in guy today, I could probably describe him better... Well imagine a normal looking man in his 40s with roots protruding from all over his body, embedding themselves into the walls and floors as such. The guy looks to be at peace with it though, he just usually sits in the corner, drinking what looks like cider.

So anyway, I went over and talked to him today, I needed to socialise I guess, it helps me forget things for a while... "Uh... Hi there..." I said, I was kind of nervous talking to him, excluding Jack, it's been a while since I've talked to someone. "Why hello there, young man! How can I help you?" he said, rather cheerfully actually, oh and yeah I'm male again, I came into contact with some teenager the other day, I'm about a 15 year old, blonde kid now, always a fun age...

Anyway, we kind of just chatted for a while, I asked stuff about him and his abilities, which he answered happily, I guess I'll just write what I learned here, rather than write the whole conversation.

Root Guy:

- His abilities started since he was about four years old, although the roots began growing faster as he grew older.
- The roots absorb any nutrients they can get, meaning if they were wrapped around a person, then they'd start sucking the life out of said person.
- He can feel the roots, meaning if you chopped them up, it would hurt him.
- Root Guy's name is Alan Tide.
- He can control where the roots go to a certain extent, they're quite slow, so it's not like he has tentacles at his disposal.

Well those were the interesting points I learned anyway, I didn't do a lot else otherwise today. Well there was actually a bar fight earlier today, I don't know who the two fighting people were, but I could've sworn I saw them both talking to Jack before... But I'm not going to start getting paranoid.

I'll end the post with that I guess, just came on to write about my day. It was nice having a conversation with someone.

It almost made this pain go away...

Jack

I've been chatting to a bunch of people here about that man from the last post, they told me his name is Jack and that he's probably hung around this club longer than anyone here. The main thing that unsettled me is the fact that every person I asked tell me that he will never talk unless spoken too, it just makes me wonder why the heck am I the different one?

Oh and I guess I didn't describe what he looked like either. He was pretty dressed like a stereotypical bad guy... He was wearing this large trench coat, a fedora that was tipped to cast a shadow over his green eyes. He had dirty blonde hair, fairly short, clean shaven... Without the clothes he'd look quite normal, I think, well besides that stench, not a gagging stench, but you could kind of smell something bad on him. That last part is probably me being paranoid...

I shouldn't get freaked out but, this man has been stalking me... I just can't understand why he would do that, what is so special about me. All I seem to do is get people killed... Whatever, I'm not thinking about that.

It's good to not be looking like that Plague Bitch anymore though...

Corner of my Eye Guy

Been hanging around here for a few days now and for a bunch of Eldritch crap filled people, they are all sickeningly cheery... A lot of them just have rather mundane abilities, like causing electronics to break around them or something. No changelings except for me though, doesn't matter. The door guy, Jeff told me that a lot of the Eldritch touched (That's what they seem to call themselves) come and go around here.

Then there was that guy... He sat down on the chair opposite of mine, at the table I was sitting at and just looked into my eyes. I was about to tell him to leave me alone before he began to say "You're full of misery, aren't you... You just continue to watch people you care about leave, whether it's them dying or them being angry with you..." I just stared, shocked at what he was saying. He grinned and continues "But it's not just misery is it Skyles, oh no, not at all. It's anger, so much anger... Why do you deserve this you wonder, it's not your fault but people seem to blame you for everything."

I began to get up at this point, I didn't want to hear this, but I found I could no longer move, I was stuck staring at him, as he continued. "Then there's the hatred... Everyone seems to have it easier than you and you hate them for that. Even with the other changeling... She was able to make physical contact without changing and as much as you tried to conceal it... there was that tinge of jealousy."

"Shut up!" I screamed at him, finding I could move again. Everyone in the place turned to watch us. The man just grinned at me, got up and strolled away. I could only just watch him in horror. This man... It's him, the corner of my eye guy...

He's been watching me since the start of this blog.

Went to the Address

That address led me to what would look like some underground nightclub. I came up to a door, and straight away a peep hole opened, revealing a pair of eyes, staring at me. The guy didn't say anything, just pretty much staring at me, it didn't particularly bother me, I didn't care. I began telling him while I was there when suddenly he yelled "Changeling!"

I looked at my body in alarm, thinking I was changing without noticing again, but no, I was still stuck as that plague bitch... I looked back up at the door, to see that it was now opened, with a fairly large man looking down at me, smiling warmly, I hadn't seen a smile like that in a while, it was nice. But that doesn't matter.

"Welcome!" he said to me happily and began leading me into the building, I couldn't help but notice that he made an effort not to come into contact with me. "Don't worry, I know how your power works, sweetheart, I'll make sure not to start it." he told me. I just shot him a puzzled look and asked "How do you know about my ability?" We entered a room and he chuckled saying "Don't ya know? We all have powers here, mine of course being to see others."

I looked around the room, to see an arrangement of people sitting around what could only be described as a Gothic version of the bar from cheers. Some of them looked normal, some of them well... I'll just say that one of them was rooted into the walls from roots growing out of them.

This should be interesting.
